Sorry people. My blog is dead again. I doubt I'll have time to update anymore. So... erm..
just check back la hor once in a while. I might just add some nonsense here from time to time.

Oh just to add this picture. I find it pretty entertaining.

Boooom

I just realized that this year's artillery firing would take place on a M3G flotation raft for National Day.
So cool. I miss seeing those rafts going up and down in the water.

Good. Our GESL leader wants everything done in one day. Good job soldier!

Atherosclerosis

Oil stood at 40 per barrel some time back I think.
It's now 73 a barrel and rising.

From a game theory perspective,
if you don't join the boat to hedge your value loss for every drop of fuel that you're gonna pump down that funnel of your car, you'll be the only sore thumb that'll be left to sulk in one corner.

Because everyone else will increase their purchasing power for oil by buying oil-related hedging products or contracts, betting that prices will rise, which leads to a self-fulfilling prophecy of inflated oil prices with regards to demand and supply mechanics.

And since this is common knowledge and everyone are rational players who are interested in fattening their coffers, of course the logical optimal action would be to join the fray and sink the boat into the river full of oily cash.

So why haven't I bitten into a steak from the cash cow when it's being served right in front of me?
Because where morality is concerned, while mathematics and common sense are kept tightly sealed inside my pandora's box, my greedy action will only cause more suffering and misery for those who can't even afford to eat a plate of Hokkien Mee as oil prices spiral up so marginally with a call to the broker.

Maybe the time to hit reset is near.

Zap Zap

Let's say I have this photocopying machine with unlimited power, paper and toner.

Due to my reliable and trustworthy nature, I'm high in demand and am wanted for my efficient photocopying service.

I can offer to print Maths Past Year Papers for any customers, provided you give me an original copy to work with.

At a certain date, I'm required to return you the original plus all the copies of the master.

But then, the number of customers flocking to my service increase exponentially and I have difficulty meeting the high volume of transactions.

Backlog increases.

But the point is, I don't care. The customers suffer but they are willing to take the risk of default because I'm fast.

Let's see if anyone understands what I'm talking about.

Buy buy buy Why why why Buy Buy Buy

Why is it so easy to walk into a shop, fork out probably $1000 to buy a LV bag.

But so hard to fork out $1 to buy 3 packets of tissue from the handicapped person?

Why is it so easy to buy a car and drive it yourself.

But so hard to get yourself to wash it without asking your maid to do the dirty job instead?

Why the thought of doing your CFA, CPA, ACCA materializes so easily.

But yet the thought of doing a religious study course seem so hard?

Why is it so easy to criticize someone.

But so hard to praise someone?

Why is it so easy to write this post.

But so hard to write a "Thank You" card to anyone?

Come on come on. I'm trying to be a better person. God help me! =)

Finale Part 1

Yo. I'm creating a new blog. I'm chucking this old one, because I have to watch what I say.

So as a disclaimer, whatever blog entries that you view before 21st June 2009 at 1116pm (Singapore Time) are not representative of Hansel Lin Daoyang's opinions in any way. Based on my induction into the civil service tomorrow, all my future posts will be laced with decorum and politically correct statements.

In the meantime, i'm thinking of a new domain name. The current one doesn't seem to represent me nowdays. haha.

One Post!

I have a wedding to attend tonight. And lots more to come that I foresee in the next 5 years.
But after the wedding, I still have a birthday to go for. It's a long night.

I'm blogging this so I can make up one post for this. haha.
